If you know Ginger and Chris Legg, you know if they can help you they will.

Border Crisis? Fatherhood? Community with Chris Legg
I had this photo of Chris from the Father’s Day podcast. Remind me to take a selfie with Ginger and Chris next time we’re together.

For example, six years ago, I finally took a big, scary step. Many people, including my newspaper publisher, had encouraged me to try podcasting. I was petrified. But I started Fireside Talk Radio.

Early on, I asked a respected leader for an interview. Guess who? Yep. Chris Legg.

Chris Legg on Fireside Talk Radio

Chris Legg did that first Father’s Day episode with me. Those two podcasts with Chris are still some of my all-time favorites. Mainly because, besides being humble and brilliant–a rare combination—Chris is also very funny. I’m posting the links below so you can find them easily.

Sex and Marriage: Chris Legg’s Book

Lately, Chris Legg did something else for us all. Drawing on years of education and experience as a counselor, wrote a terrific book, called Sex and Marriage.

This is by far my favorite book on the topic. (Okay, maybe my second favorite, since I really love my own marriage book after my editors did such a great job on it.)

Seriously, I really LOVE books that transform the way we think.

Why Men Crave Sex, according to Chris Legg

Chris Legg’s book is the best I’ve read on an important topic to me: Why men crave sex.

The person who can answer THAT question ought to be a best selling author.

Every boy mom knows this is huge. If you can teach a boy why he wants sex, the next step will be easier. No, it’s never easy to teach a teen age boy to reign in his sex drive. So, we’ll take any tools we can get. Especially if they transform the way we ALL think about sex and marriage.

Believe me when I say, this idea Chris shares wasn’t in any other book I’ve ever read.

I can’t explain Chris’s ideas in a blog and do them justice. It took 12 chapters for him. (Please don’t be mad at me for not trying. I hate it when bloggers bait and switch. But you owe it to yourself to get the info first hand from Chris.)

12 Life-changing Chapters

Recently, I figured out I’ve read at least 40 books on sex and marriage. Yep, Dave and I’ve been married over 40 years, so it’s a safe bet. Easily one per year, probably more. I still have a couple dozen on my shelf from researching my own book.

Of course, Chris also explains how women think differently about sex than men.

This information is so clear, you’ll want to share it with your spouse. (Special shout out to Mark Legg who helped his dad write the book. Thanks to Mark, the book is concise and easy to read.)

I shared it immediately with my kids, so they could share it with our grandkids. Can you believe I bought 10 copies and gave them all away immediately! Buy your copy here. I bet you’ll want copies more to share. (Quotes from Chris’s book at the bottom of today’s blog.)

Nobody pays me to endorse books. No profit in this for me in any way. Except I want to share good things with YOU.

You know I love YOU, my reading and listening friends. That’s the only reason I do this.

May we pray together?

Dear good Father, You are the God who established sexual intercourse as the initiating act of marriage, according to Jesus. You designed us to crave sex. But the world would mislead us in countless destructive ways. Thank You for teaching us what is true and beautiful and good. Thank You for godly leaders bold enough to seek You out and then turn around and share what they learn with the rest of us. Your wisdom is always filled with compassion and mercy for us. Teach us to be like You, full of grace and goodness. We are Your grateful people. Bless us now because that is Your heart’s desire. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We LOVE to Hear From YOU!

“As individual men seeking to love their wives better and better, we can patiently nurture our wives back to naked and unashamed. Now, that’s a worthy ministry. Just have to figure out how to communicate our love for her whole being, consistently and gently, in ways she can experience from her head to her toes and from her heart to her brain.” ~Chris Legg, Pg 113

“Marriage was designed, created, and instituted to serve as a living parable of God’s love for his people.” ~Chris Legg, from his book, Sex and Marriage

“‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” ~Mark 10:7-10, NKJV
