As many of you know, one of my favorite people came through Tyler to see us. Since we were finally together, we wanted to invite you into our uncut conversation about motherhood.
Brooke Frick, author of Hands Full, brought her fabulous hubby, Darrell and their five darling children. Oh. My. Goodness. The energy level exploded at our house with the excitement of being together finally.
After this first take, we laughed pretty hard. Why? Because she didn’t even answer the question I asked her! Still, I loved the way her real answer reveals the heart of this dear mom and daughter. (Here’s the link in case the following gets wonky: https://youtu.be/xxfQOwSxDj4.)
Our Uncut Conversation About Motherhood
We decided the first uncut version was perfect. I loved the way it turned into a virtual hug for her own Mom. I’m adding my own shout out to the wonderful parents who raised such an awesome daughter.
Then, to top it all off, Brooke sent me a recipe for YOU from her Mom! Don’t ya love it! (Find Brook’s encouragement for moms in her book, Hands Full.)
Chicken Divan
I’m planning to make Brooke’s Mom’s Special Version. The one where her Mom substitutes ham for chicken to make Ham Divan.
Don’t tell David, but I plan to layer both chicken and ham because he’ll eat anything with ham in it, but chicken not so much. Use cooked chicken breasts for this recipe.
Authentic, Laughter-filled Conversations Start Here
The brave Fricks are traveling all over the United States in an R.V. after selling their ranch home in California. Then, next stop? Rwanda. Did I say BRAVE? While in Tyler, they filmed their part of a documentary about the plans for Rwanda. (To find out more, contact Brooke here.) Yep, Brooke is a star!
I hope you are having your own version of laughter-filled, uncut, authentic conversations! Never forget–authentic conversational adventures can be life-changing with the right skills and a little prayer!
🙂

We LOVE to hear from YOU!
Thank you for listening in to our uncut conversation! We loved including you. Please send us your thoughts.
What’s your favorite story about your own kids? When have your family travels turned into priceless memories? Which wisdom do you cherish from your own mom?
May we pray together?
Dear good Father, as moms it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Yet, we want to savor the joy in each moment. Thank You for all those we love, our beautiful children, our families. Thank You for giving us the energy, creativity, and patience we need. We are grateful for the women You give us to encourage and strengthen us for today. Help us commit to loving each other, even when generational perspectives get confusing. Teach us to trust Your Spirit and love like you do. Keep our friends safe as they travel around the country and around the world. Bless us all now because that’s Your heart’s desire. In Jesus’s name. Amen
P.S. Our Next Adventures
Just in time for Easter, Paula Quinn, joins me on Fireside Talk Radio to talk about The Questions God Asks Us, Paula explains the tender intimacy of conversations with the God who still reaches out to each of us today! (Shout out to our joyful friend who introduced us!)
Then, Sparking Wholeness guru Erin Kerry gets me talking about conversational adventures. I always feel self-conscious when other people ask me the questions. But Erin’s talent at interviewing means there’s plenty here I did NOT expect to say out loud! (Find her wisdom about Sparking Wholeness and The Brain-Gut Connection.)
Coming soon, the amazing Nancy Kay Grace joins me to talk about how our families can spread grace and joy in any circumstance. She speaks from experience. You will LOVE this dear friend’s heart.
In a few weeks, Re/Engage Director Susan Cox shares her story with authenticity that will touch your heart.

For Those Who Dream of Writing a Book
Because so many of my friends have asked, I wanted to mention two companies that come alongside authors to make dreams come true. Credo House Publishers is a sister company to the agency that represents me, Credo Communications. (Shout out to the amazing Karen Neumair! ❤️)
Also, check out Redemption Press. (Shout out to Athena Holtz, who published B.J. Garrett’s wonderful book, Unwanted No More.)
Finally, for those who don’t want to self-publish, maybe like me, you want all the help you can get. If so, I highly recommend both my publishers, Elk Lake Publishers and CrossRiver Media. They are awesome!
If you need help with social media, Sandra Beck excels at ANYthing she does. (Who but Sandra thinks to put the word fun in her hyperlink! http://beckfun.com/sandrabeck/) And if you’re considering a podcast, Toginet makes it easy on the host, so you can focus on your guests.
